Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Systems Engineer for our Bridgeton, MO facility who will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and integration of battlefield reconnaissance, survivability, lethality, radar, and electronic system payloads into Mission Equipment Packages (MEPs) for legacy and next-generation combat vehicles. This position is responsible for meeting the corresponding technical performance requirements and executing an interdisciplinary, systems engineering process to ensure that the customer and stakeholders' needs are satisfied in a high quality, trustworthy, cost efficient, and schedule compliant manner throughout a system's entire life cycle. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and communicate effectively with engineering and management stakeholders and foster an innovative work environment leading to identification of opportunities for improvements in product, process, quality, and productivity.

Job Responsibilities Direct the technical activities of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to develop and deliver Mission Equipment Packages that fully meet the system requirements and customer’s expectations Support architectural design, requirements engineering, modeling & simulation, systems-level documentation, trade studies, risk management, system integration and test, and verification and validation Support efforts to ensure a common understanding of and compliance with all program requirements Lead major problem resolution efforts and support attaining customer confidence Use computer-aided design or other engineering/analysis software as necessary in the performance of assignments  Communicate effectively with engineers, executive and senior-level management, and non-engineering support staff to evaluate technical information impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables Strive to complete activities on time and budget Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel Support the acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed) Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services Study alternative concepts and use of models and simulations to predict system performance Enforce and integrate systems engineering processes into program plans Provide labor estimates and schedule input for work assignments Participate in the preparation of highly technical proposals Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience U.S. Citizenship required Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practices Must possess excellent analytical and communication skills, written and oral Ability to travel up to 25% in CONUS and OCONUS, if required

The expected pay scale for this position is $90,673.00/year - $140,769.00/year for the state of Illinois.  Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
