**Job Description**
BAE Systems is offering a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to shape the development and deployment of the next generation capabilities for our ATC division. We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead the development of Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems' architectures, including shipboard and land-based aircraft landing systems. The selected candidate will lead systems engineering activities within a Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) to design Data Architectures and execute Software Development efforts. The lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) compliance and support Digital Transformation and Process Development within the system engineering domain. This candidate will operate in an organizational culture that develops and challenges employees to achieve high performance in a fast-paced, high-morale workplace using streamlined engineering and management policies and procedures.
This candidate will help educate and equip the government customer to acquire, operate, and maintain an entire suite of ATC Systems and will become a trusted mission partner to the innovative, digital engineering-driven Naval Air Warfare Center organization that is responsible to design, build, test, transition, and sustain the world's safest, most secure, and effective air traffic control systems.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Some limited relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidate. Applicants must be currently residing in or willing to relocate to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software, engineering, or related field
At least 8 years of progressive technical experience
Experience in leading digital transformation processes, building integrated DE toolsets and leading DE workforce
Familiarity with systems engineering topics, including architecture development and requirements management, or willingness to learn Model Based Systems Engineering
Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work
Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills, briefing and providing reports to executive-level leader
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
Master's degree in computer science, software, engineering, or related technical field
At least 2 years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Familiarity with Data Analytics, Data Science, or Data Engineering, or willingness to learn enterprise-wide integration of analytical toolsets spanning business, technical, modeling/simulation, test, and sustainment focus-areas
Familiarity with software development and application integration, including knowledge of and practical experience implementing Agile methodologies
Experience with DoD acquisition programs
Experience leading successful teams in high tempo environment
Experience leading and/or facilitating multi-stakeholder groups
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
