Our work depends on you, as Senior Systems Engineer, joining the Navy and Marine Corps Sector to lead a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled individuals to support development, design, prototyping, low-rate production, demonstration, test, integration, technical installation, transition through Initial Operational Capability (IOC), and maintenance in the domains of cyber, Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), situational awareness, data management and dissemination, and other rapid capability software requirements with the ASI Division in support of Department of Navy (DON), Department of Defense (DoD), and other Government agency projects.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. You will provide systems engineering direction and guidance for design, development, integration, and interface design analysis, installation, integration, fielding, field analysis, operation, maintenance, and testing of information processing and other systems.  In this role, a typical day may include:

Guide the successful completion of major engineering programs; may function in a project leadership roleDevelop advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problemsPerform advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the endProvide and apply advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management toolsProvide and apply advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysisPerform continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problemsPrepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projectsMaintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processesPerform complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineeringInvent innovative ways to drive production operational efficiencyDrive scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructureImplement, manage, and enhance Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline toolsCreates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructureProvide system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidanceMay act as a consultant across multiple programs, contracts, and business development effortsMay coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionalsMay serve as a team or task lead

Must active an DOD Top Secret security clearance

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Possess and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain Specialized Compartmented Information (SCI) access which will be required by the contractor in the performance of their work to enter classified spaces, review data and access networksAbility to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access CardAbility to communicate clearly and effectively both written and orallyTravel 10-25%


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ten (10) years or more experience in a Systems Engineering discipline with at least 5 of those years must be related to software, computer, and/or network systems.Master’s Degree in an Engineering DisciplineThis position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Work experience may be substituted for a master’s degree. However, if using a substitution for a master’s degree, the bachelor’s degree must be in the field required by the labor qualification. A bachelor’s degree plus four years of additional work experience, above the ten (10) year requirement stated above, may be substituted for a master’s degree.

The likely salary range for this position is $144,410 - $195,378. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
