Senior Systems Engineer (Remote)

We are currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer (Remote) with a focus on Observability to help grow our company and ensure our mission is achieved!  

This role is a work from home position and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in our corporate locations in Utah.

YOU ARE: A passionate engineer who focuses on enhancing observability across the full IT stack of both applications and infrastructure. You engineer the platforms and guide teams of software engineers in the implementation of observability best practices. Your role revolves around optimizing monitoring and analytics capabilities and you work closely with tools like AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana to enhance visibility and proactively address issues.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

Integrate observability best practices throughout the DevOps lifecycle using tools like AWS, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana to ensure continuous improvement.

Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for real-time monitoring and proactive system management.

Use advanced performance monitoring tools to swiftly identify and resolve system issues to maintain SLAs.

Bridge gaps between development, operations, and business units, advocating for observability best practices and training team members.

Continuously innovate and improve observability with new tools and practices within the AWS ecosystem.

Document observability practices thoroughly, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

YOU’LL BRING:

Skilled in implementing observability best practices for enhanced system visibility and performance monitoring.

Experienced in leading software engineering teams, ensuring effective observability practice implementation and alignment with goals.

Proficient with AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana for optimized monitoring and analytics.

Track record of proactively identifying and resolving issues using observability data, improving system reliability.

This role requires participation in an on-call rotation, with no project work assigned during on-call periods.
