Senior Tableau Administrator
**Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart.** **The Opportunity** We are seeking a skilled Tableau Server Admin to manage, optimize, and architect Tableau Server environments for seamless analytics and reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of Tableau Server while ensuring high availability and performance. **About the Team** At Nutanix, you will be joining the Saas Data team, comprising 50 talented individuals located across various regions. You will report to the Senior Manager Business Intelligence, who leads with a focus on fostering growth, providing guidance, and ensuring that each team member has the resources needed to excel. At Nutanix, we offer a hybrid work setup, requiring employees to work in the office for three days a week, promoting a balance between in-person collaboration and remote flexibility. **Your Role** + Install, configure, and maintain Tableau Server across environments (Development, Production). + Monitor Tableau Server performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize server resources. + Design and implement Tableau Server architecture (On-Prem), including multi-node clustering, load balancing, and disaster recovery solutions. + Ensure SLA adherence for Tableau deployments and incident resolutions. + Establish and manage an on-call support process for Tableau Server issues. + Provide timely communication for key events such as deployment freezes, security patches, and any upcoming Tableau downtime. + Must be hands-on with Tableau development, including dashboard creation and performance optimization. + Manage user authentication, security, and permissions using Active Directory, SAML, and role-based access controls (RBAC). + Collaborate with IT for applying security patches and upgrading the Tableau Server. + Develop Tableau guardrails for monitoring access controls and dashboard performance. + Develop and implement backup, recovery, and upgrade strategies. + Troubleshoot server issues, conduct root cause analysis, and apply necessary fixes or patches. + Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, and business users to ensure a seamless reporting experience. + Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting). + Provide technical documentation and user training on Tableau Server best practices. + Stay updated with the latest Tableau releases, features, and industry best practices. + Maintain guardrails to monitor the quality of dashboards going to production. **What You Will Bring** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. + 5+ years of experience in Tableau Server administration, architecture, and performance tuning. + Expertise in Tableau Server multi-node configuration, clustering, and high availability architecture. + Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration. + Experience with Tableau licensing and user management. + Proficiency in SQL, databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server), and data warehousing concepts. + Hands-on experience with scripting for automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.). + Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Tableau Cloud. + Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. + Tableau Certification (Tableau Server Certified Associate or Professional) is a plus.Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Tableau deployment. + Knowledge of monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus for Tableau Server performance tracking. + Understanding of networking and firewall configurations related to Tableau Server. **Work Arrangement** Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
