Description:The Senior Tax Accountant position is a key part of the Tax Accounting, Tax Consolidation, Forecast, and External Reporting team within the Enterprise Operations Corporate Tax Organization. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting various financial tasks and projects, with opportunities for growth, development, and making a tangible impact on the company's financial success.

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in tax accounting, forecasting, and compliance. You will work closely with other teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of tax-related activities and contribute to the company's financial success.

Some key responsibilities for the role include:

• Supporting quarterly and annual accounting income tax provisions pursuant to ASC740, including preparing tax entries and reconciling federal tax accounts.
• Assist in income tax compliance activities, including provision-to-return adjustments, tax return and extension preparation and coordinating with and supporting external tax audit.
• Reconciling deferred tax balances during quarterly financial closes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with tax forecasting and financial modeling initiatives to provide strategic insights and support business decisions.
• Conducting special tax projects as needed, such as financial impact analyzes, tax provisions, and liability forecasts and projects in related areas
• Support income tax audits, including gathering data to comply with IRS and state and local audit requests.
• Assisting with the review of new and existing tax laws, court case, regulations, and rulings to provide strategic insight on potential company impacts and inform business decisions.

These responsibilities require a strong foundation in tax accounting and compliance, as well as the ability to analyze complex tax data and provide strategic insight to support business decisions.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of income tax provisions (ASC 740) and corporate income tax compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Desired Skills:
• CPA and/or Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Experience in public accounting firm or large company tax department.
• Proficiency with Thomson Reuters OTP, Oracle and/or CorpTax.
• Familiarity with Alteryx, AI, dashboards and/or digital transformations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $73,800 - $130,180. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
