Main responsibilities include administration, review and compliance with state and local sales/use tax obligations. The role identifies, researches and assists in implementing methods to minimize the Company’s tax posture. Moreover, it defends the Company and its subsidiaries when challenged by taxing authorities.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Prepare and review state and local sales/use tax returns for multiple operating divisions, ensuring timely and accurate filing. Assist in coordination and management of sales/use tax audits and work closely with division personnel and taxing authorities to achieve the lowest tax liability permissible. Provide legal research, consultation, and opinions regarding sales/use tax issues to the operating divisions. Work with tax team to transform data and automate processes related to the sales and use tax compliance. Serve as the focal point for coordinating system testing related to Oracle/SAP and Vertex patches, improvements, and upgrades. Prepare and provide sales tax training presentations for operating personnel. Prepare and file personal property tax returns and business license returns for major plant facilities and sales offices in assigned states Other miscellaneous sale and use tax responsibilities including exemption certificate review and maintenance, approving sales tax credits, responding to sales tax notices and customer requests for sales tax refunds.Who You Are: You promote a sense of urgency and establishes and enforces individual accountability in the team. You readily distinguish between what’s relevant and what’s important to make sense of complex situations. For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor of Science/Arts in Accounting, Finance or Business required. Minimum 4 years with Public accounting and/or large corporation with multi-divisional, multi-state and multi-national structure. Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role. Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Knowledge of Vertex a plus CPA or CMI
