Senior Analyst, Global Tax Reporting, Global Provision
Reporting to the Director, Global Tax Reporting, the Senior Analyst will support the team in the end-to-end tax life cycle, focusing on the global income tax provision, and participating in all aspects of our work including income tax planning, financial reporting, federal and state income tax compliance, income tax controversy, and special projects.
As the Senior Analyst, you will partner with teams in Global Finance and Tax to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and achieve the goals and priorities of the Expedia organization.
In this role you will:
Financial Reporting:
Support the U.S. GAAP interim and annual income tax provision, including preparation of the effective tax rate, analysis of uncertain tax positions and valuation allowance, preparation of journal entries and disclosures.
Compute return-to-provision adjustments
Prepare tax account rollforwards
Prepare payable and deferred proofs
Prepare internal control documentation for SOX compliance
Maintain audit-ready workpapers in accordance with the team’s documentation standards
U.S. Tax Compliance:
Assist with taxable income calculations and forecasts
Maintain audit-ready workpapers in accordance with the team’s documentation standards
Planning and Legislative:
Prepare tax forecasts and scenario modeling
Research and analyze the tax effects of legislative changes
Transactions:
Support transactions including mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, financing, and business initiatives
Prepare calculations and memoranda documenting related tax effects
Summarize the effective tax rate impacts and disclosure considerations
Tax Operations:
Support the evolution of tax technology tools and technological enhancements
Support ongoing process transformation
Prepare and maintain process documentation
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax
CPA license preferred
3+ years of relevant experience, with a combination of Big Four public accounting and industry experience preferred
Sufficient knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax concepts
Ability to work successfully in high-performing environment, with strong desire to learn and grow.
Self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities, and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Willingness to learn new software or systems
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
