About this Role

The main responsibilities of the Sr. Tax Analyst, Domestic will be to support the federal and state tax reporting functions within the Tax Department, including tax provision and compliance preparation. 

What You'll Do Prepares the federal and state tax provisions for consolidated and separate company financial reporting requirements, including but not limited to permanent and temporary differences, tax attributes, tax basis balance sheet, and return to provision calculations.Analyzes balances in tax provision software for gross temporary differences.Prepares return to provision calculations and corresponding journal entry(s).Analyze and document corporate tax positions and uncertain tax positions.Performs purchase accounting analysis during M&A process.Ensures compliance with SOX controls – reviews controls on an as needed basis.Assist in the preparation of tax disclosures for financial statements.

 

Tax Compliance

Preparation of book to tax adjustments and various supporting workpapers for the preparation of income tax returns.Prepares and reviews state tax returns.Prepares and reviews federal and state estimated tax payment and extensions.Tracks state tax attributes including state NOLs and valuation allowance.Support tax audits and respond to tax authorities’ inquiries.

 

General Duties

Develop and maintain strong relationships with contacts at various operating units and other departments.Conduct tax research and provide guidance on corporate tax-related issue.Must stay current with federal tax legislation.Performs tax research and analysis on numerous diverse tax issues.Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.Experience with automation and data wrangling tools such as Alteryx and Power BI.Mentor and train junior tax staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.3+ years of experience in working with a corporate tax department and/or public accounting firm.Strong federal, state and local income tax experience.Working knowledge of international corporate tax issues.Strong working knowledge of GAAP> 1 Year

 

Preferred Education and Experience

Master’s Degree in Taxation.Choose an item.
