Senior Tax Analyst

Our Purpose: We pioneer the innovations that move and connect people to what matters Responsibilities About the role: The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for the preparation/review of federal pro forma returns, state income tax returns, assisting in the preparation of the tax provision and tax footnote processes for quarterly and annual financial statements, and will assist with federal and state income tax audits. This team member works with numerous people in various internal departments, outside consultants and tax authorities. In this role you will: Review or assist in preparation of federal proforma returns that are included in a parent companies consolidated federal income tax return Review or assist in preparation of book to tax adjustments for preparation of federal income tax return and quarterly tax provision Review or assist in preparation of state income/franchise tax returns and all supporting calculations and workpapers Perform administrative duties within the compliance software As needed assist tax accounting and international tax groups Review or assist in preparation of tax account reconciliations Assist in analyzing/testing tax depreciation calculation performed by outside public accounting firm Research federal and state implications of new business transactions and impacts of tax reform or legislative changes Assist in internal and external audits Assist with GM Financial's outside financial statement auditors on quarterly reviews and year-end audits Qualifications What makes you a dream candidate? Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access Advanced knowledge of US federal and state taxation Computer technology Excellent attention to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills Good analytical and mathematical skills Able to work under pressure Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Must stay abreast of technical tax issues while seeking ways to enhance the tax process Supervision/Management skills Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or in related field or equivalent work experience required 4-6 years of accounting experience preferred Experience with OneSource software preferred 4-6 years of progressive income tax experience preferred What We Offer: Generous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.
