The opportunity:Flexport is seeking a highly motivated tax professional to support U.S. tax compliance and contribute to global tax initiatives. In this position, you will assist with domestic direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and planning in a high-growth, fast-paced, pre-IPO environment. You will: Assist in or manage (depending on level) the preparation and filing of U.S. federal and state income tax returns in collaboration with external service providers using OneSource. Support or oversee the calculation and processing of estimated tax payments. Help prepare or review the company’s worldwide ASC 740 tax provision and related financial statement disclosures. Work closely with internal Finance teams during monthly and quarterly closes. Prepare and file various non-income tax returns (e.g., annual gross receipts, commercial activity, and taxes). Conduct tax research and provide insights or recommendations on tax issues as needed. Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory tax developments, sharing updates with the Tax team. Prepare and review monthly/quarterly transfer pricing entries to ensure compliance with inter-company agreements. Perform tax-related account reconciliations. Support SOX compliance efforts and assist in documentation for internal audits. Identify opportunities to improve tax compliance processes through automation and efficiency. You should have: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation preferred. 5+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or industry. Functional knowledge of all aspects of the tax lifecycle, including compliance/reporting, transfer pricing, and controversy. Strong ability to conduct technical tax research, interpret findings, and develop practical solutions. Experience working cross-functionally with key stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-growth environment where adaptability is critical. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and tax analytics, with extreme attention to detail. Experience with NetSuite and OneSource is a plus.
