Group Taxation (GTAX) is the tax department of Allianz SE, the listed parent company of Allianz Group. GTAX supports the Board of Management to ensure high quality and efficient tax reporting and tax compliance and represents the company against external authorities. With our diverse team of more than 30 tax advisors, lawyers and senior experts we enable sustainable growth by providing tax advice to senior management, performing group wide tax planning and engaging in strategic projects. GTAX sets group wide tax standards, steers and coordinates the local tax functions to ensure effective tax risk management and to safeguard Allianz reputation as a responsible tax payer. Group Tax operates in an international environment with continuous touchpoints with our operating entities, tax authorities, senior managers and C-level stakeholders. In your full-time role as a tax expert in the International Tax Planning and Investments division (ITPI), GTAX is responsible for:
• Tax support and tax governance for insurance and asset management activities of the Allianz group
• Tax support for acquisitions, restructurings and disposal of insurance business and alternative investments in preparation of Group approval
• Set and enforcement of group-wide minimum standards and guidelines
• Tax planning and optimization for the Allianz Group
You will:
• provide professional technical assistance and advisory on international and German tax aspects for Allianz entities
• be responsible for structuring and coordinating acquisitions and divestments, involving Allianz local tax functions and external advisors
• advise on tax aspects of new acquisition and investment structures and investment platforms for alternative investments, working closely with Allianz local tax functions, other group functions, and asset managers
• support Group approval committees from a tax perspective
• ensuring adequate governance of the tax affairs for Allianz Group entities
• monitor and analysis of national and international tax developments regarding impact on the structures of the group
• identify and assess uncertain tax positions, and prepare and manage tax audits concerning topics and controversies in your assigned area
• analyse tax assets and attributes, developing and implementing measures to increase their underlying value
• collaborate with Group Tax functions, Investment function, Asset management functions, and international tax function to ensure full alignment
Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Taxation, Law, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience as a tax advisor or in-house tax manager
• Professional expertise in corporate and international tax law
• Tax advisory experience at both national and international levels
• Certified tax advisor
• Fluent in both written and spoken German and English
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project management experience
• Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
