Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Cox Enterprises is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Tax Manager to lead tax planning and advisory activities related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions for Cox Enterprises and its affiliates.
Responsibilities:
Transaction Advisory
Develop and implement tax strategies and structures to optimize the tax efficiency of M&A and other corporate transactions.
Lead tax due diligence processes, identifying and reporting on tax risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
Provide tax support and guidance throughout the deal lifecycle, including structuring and negotiating transactions, reviewing transaction documents, and advising on the tax implications of deal terms and conditions.
Tax Research and Analysis
Monitor changes in federal and international tax laws, regulations, and court rulings that impact M&A transactions.
Leadership
Lead a team of tax professionals, including overseeing work, providing guidance and mentorship, fostering a collaborative environment, and promoting professional development.
Manage various external accounting and legal advisors.
Collaboration and Coordination
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Cox’s strategy & corporate development teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and finance, to ensure seamless integration of tax strategies.
Manage coordination with all tax department stakeholders to ensure efficient integration of acquired companies into all tax processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 8 years of experience in a related field.
8 years of experience in federal and international taxation, with a focus on M&A transactions at a large corporation or public accounting firm.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated strategic approach to work.
Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred
CPA/master’s degree preferred
