Job Summary   This role will work with tax agencies to ensure filings and payments are remitted timely from Paycor systems to the agency systems. To accomplish these goals, this role will need to understand the different aspects of the tax filing and payment process. The Senior Tax Specialist will identify compliance issues and data discrepancies and work with internal partners to get the issue rectified for timely remittance of returns and payments.  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with enrollment, preparation, and filing of state, local, federal, and unemployment tax returns. Resolve client questions expediently with a high level of service and communicate with them regarding tax activity, prior quarter balancing issues, amended returns and tax jurisdiction correspondences Maintain and update work cases in Salesforce including progress and communication to customers. Set a positive work example for peers and influence a working environment that is energized and consistently demonstrates the Paycor service commitment. Reconcile QTD and YTD tax amounts withheld, reported, and deposited on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for specific agencies. Collaborate with different Tax teams and communicate with Taxing Authorities on an as-needed basis to maintain relationship. Understand Federal, State and Local payroll taxes. Maintain up to date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and requirements. Actively participate as a member of the team and support other team members as needed, including fill in work for specialists as required. Assist with customer escalations as needed. Drive change by identifying ways to improve systems, processes, documentation, training, and internal communications Coach and train associates on new or enhanced systems, products, and processes. Work with Compliance Product & Engineering to ensure product compliance between Paycor and Tax Authorities.   Requirements 2 year of prior Accounting, Business or Paycor experience preferred. 3 year of payroll/ Tax experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge amongst areas of employment tax processing (Tax Deposits, Return filing, Tax Notice, Adjustments/Amendments, etc…) Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently Prior experience transferring knowledge to others in training environment or virtually; utilizing on-line tools such as Zoom, or Microsoft Teams preferred Experience with industry standard file formats such as EFW2, ICESA, and NACHA preferred Proven strong organization and time management skills, must be able to prioritize tasks based on delivery dates, other milestones and perform well under agency-driven deadline pressures High technical aptitude: ability to adapt to frequent system and tool updates Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. Ability to interface with multiple departments, multi-task, and work independently. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and Excel. Adherence to schedule and role assignments to ensure timely responses.

We also offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, and education. We anticipate the base pay for this position to be between $21.34-34.16/hr. In addition to base pay, Paycor Associates are eligible for either a performance-based annual bonus or commission, depending on their position.
