We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead a team in Barcelona, Spain. The Unix Infrastructure Operations team bridges hardware and application layers. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
5+ years of experience managing, configuring, troubleshooting Linux/Unix systems in large-scale production environments, supporting production applications.
2+ years of experience leading a technical team, running projects, collaborating across the organization, and reporting to stakeholders.
4+ years working in data centers and with enterprise-grade hardware, storage, and networking. Strong knowledge of physical computing (CPUs, memory, storage) and hardware troubleshooting.
4+ years of experience with automation - Bash/Python scripting, Chef.
5+ years with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
5+ years using and configuring monitoring and DC management tools like OpsView and Device42.
4+ years experience working with network/infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, FTP, NTP, NFS, Mail, and others.
Experience mentoring junior team members, creating/enforcing policies and processes, resolving conflicts, and acting as an escalation point.
Solid understanding of network security. Ability to support audits, hardening, and best practices.

Experience with enterprise storage systems such as EMC, Pure, or NetApp.
Experience collaborating with third-party vendors for product evaluations and purchasing.
Experience with backup systems (Avamar, Datadomain) and best practices.
Experience to creating project plans, budgets, and documentation involving different products and teams.
Knowledge of basic database administration and with database systems (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra), including query writing, performance diagnosis, and replication configuration.
Proficiency with networked storage (iSCSI, NFS) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/REST, SSL).
Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Software engineering experience.
What will you be doing in this role?
Ensure daily functionality, performance, and security of our products.
Perform day-to-day technical work as well as lead a team of engineers, acting as a mentor, decision maker, and escalation point.
Collaborate with R&D and Infrastructure Engineering on:
Infrastructure sizing, provisioning, and capacity management.
Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Diagnosing hardware/networking issues and collaborating with Engineering teams.
Upgrades, updates, and migrations (server firmware, databases, application code).
Backups and disaster recovery.
Assess new technologies and implement process/tool improvements.
Manage long-term projects and act as an SME/owner of application and infrastructure components.
Oversee capacity, costs, and budgets.
Provide escalation support for R&D and Product teams.
Serve as a thought leader, architect, and mentor for junior team members and other teams.
Hours of Work
Full-time (40 hours/week), permanent role.
Hybrid model: Work 2–3 days a week from our Barcelona office near Sagrada Familia.
