The technical engineering manager will be a hands-on lead engineer with people leadership experience that excels in a dynamic, fast-moving, and agile environment and is passionate about developing high quality, high performance, and scalable software and teams. The candidate will work aside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the application health and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software product releases.
This position will be part of the Bank Technology team at Schwab and focus on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market & increasing efficiency. The model is insights-driven and focuses on rapid iterations to drive innovation and transformation. In this role you will:
+ Provide technical and people leadership to drive fast paced product development.
+ Drive Agile based product development supporting organization priorities and innovation.
+ Hands-on development and mentoring as necessary for all members of the team to ensure team and project success.
+ Drive products and team performance, collaborates with all to achieve results, and thinks strategically.
+ Work closely with development, product owner and team members to decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks.
+ Lead team in execution of application support and automation for deployments.
+ Interface with product owner and key stakeholders in Project Management, Business, Development, QA and Technology Operations to ensure high quality delivery of software projects on time and budget.
+ Identify technology risks and dependencies early to establish mitigation plans.
+ Create and maintains artifacts for production support and deployment processes.
+ Meet periodically with onshore and offshore developers and application support to review and improve processes.
+ Utilize automated software tools and frameworks for deployments and on-going maintenance activities.
+ Support integration and modernization efforts.
**What you have**
**Required**
+ Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar/equivalent area of study
+ Minimum of 12 years of solid application and automation experience.
+ Minimum of 5 years team leadership experience
+ 5 years of exceptional experience and demonstrate proficiency in cloud-based technologies (Pivotal Cloud Foundry or AWS).
+ 5 years of experience in leading a data innovation and data technology function in the context of data as the product. Also including experience with Web, APIs, RPA, AI and DB engineering.
+ Minimum of 3 years working in Banking/Payments area.
**Preferred**
+ Experience with Lending/Mortgage origination and servicing platforms
+ Good understanding of latest Architecture and Development Standards and Guidelines
+ Experience providing guidance, direction, and feedback to other technical staff in order to meet agreed upon objectives.
+ Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various level of technical and non-technical management.
+ Proficient managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environment
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.

CO Salary Range: USD $112,200 - $187,000 / Year
