Senior Tech Specialist Storage

The SAN administrator is responsible for the correct functioning of the Brocade directors, ensuring correct connectivity between the different components of the SAN also in disk allocation from PowerMax and Purestorage arrays.

As SAN administrator, you will:

· Manage the performance, reliability, and availability of storage systems based on service level agreements.

· Perform routine maintenance tasks on Dell EMC hardware, Pure Storage arrays including storage arrays, servers, and networking equipment, software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.

· Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimizations to enhance overall infrastructure efficiency.

· Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to proactively identify potential issues and prevent system downtime.

· Ensure hardware and application security and controls meet or exceed guidelines.

· Provide support during disaster recovery exercises or real disaster recovery cases for all managed storage systems.

· Apply the recommendations of the global engineering team for system improvements and upgrades, Appling firmware updates, patches, and fixes to maintain system security and stability.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives.

· Develop a comprehensive migration plan, including timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.

· Interaction with internal teams as Cabling, Core Network, Operating System and other business, support areas for problem escalations, resolutions, reporting and coordination.

· It works jointly with manufacturers, Broadcom, Dell and Purestorage to install, customize, and maintain the Storage environment (HW SW)

It is recommended that you know how to work in a team, have high analytical skills to solve problems in the infrastructure.

Requirements:

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline preferred.

· 5-7 years of relevant Storage work experience.

· Hands on experience in the administration of SAN Directors, Brocade and Cisco.

· Knowledge of Brocade SAN equipment and associated management tools (SANNav, ASCg, SANHealth).

· Strong knowledge of storage protocols (FC, iSCSI), storage networking, and server technologies.

· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Experience installing and configuring disk arrays (Dell Purestorage).

· Knowledge of Unisphere and Pure1 management consoles.

· Experience in structured cabling, preferably in fiber, analysis capacity to diagnose connectivity failures.

· Knowledge and experience with FOS Upgrades.

· Knowledge of Dell SCG.

· Experience with SAN disk migrations.

· Experience with SAN Director migrations.

· Certifications from manufacturers such as Dell, Purestorage, Cisco or Broadcom are desirable.
