To provide the level of expertise required to implement, support and maintain all services under the mandate of the Production Mainframe Services team, and to strive for the highest possible productions systems availability in support of our dependent clients and businesses.Job Description
What will you do?
Plan and execute weekend maintenance to provide minimal disruption to the production environmentFollow established Service Now guidelines for implementing change into the Production environmentProvide the necessary support to ensure the highest level of service for all online systemsResponsible for ensuring day to day problems of a technical nature within the mainframe systems are dealt with quickly and efficiently or otherwise escalated to the appropriate areas within Technology and OperationsResponsible for following up on all outstanding problems to reduce the possibilities of future service outages and/or interruption, degradationResponsible for the seamless implementation of all hardware and software changesDeal with hardware engineers to ensure prompt follow up on problems and preventive maintenance requirementsWorks in conjunction with the Systems Managed Storage area of Global Hosting Services to ensure disk resources are allocated in a cost efficient manner24/7 shift work on rotational basisWhat do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Operational/technical experience with IBM mainframe serversPost-secondary education or equivalentExperience with incident resolution, problem management and change managementEffective written and verbal communication skillsOrganized and detail orientedNice to have:
