The Senior Technical Architecture Specialist (STAS) is a technical expert responsible for planning project direction in collaboration with various State Agencies as they relate to future project planning.
This role is one where the ideal candidate will seek to identify key enterprise IT trends, products and services beyond State technology boundaries to the ever-evolving IT practices in the private sector.
This role may interface with Department/Agency heads, Directors and division managers to ensure communication and technical scope is accomplished with the goal of defining overall system needs and architectural challenges.
A qualified candidate will have worked with technical architecture including, but not limited to: ERPs, CASE Management, Infrastructure and application design.
An ideal candidate will have experience in architecting systems and determining development/implementation policy as it relates to governmental projects.
An ideal candidate will extensive experience in understanding and implementing broad policies and procedures designed to accommodate enterprise architectural environments.
This role will involve planning, configuring, documenting and testing the architectural design of a system or platform solution in support of new projects and services. This individual will be responsible for identifying IT Best practices.
This individual is responsible for setting the TECHNICAL approach and direction and implementation for work. The Senior Technical Architecture Specialist provides technical design expertise, defines what technical requirements are needed to support defined business requirements, participates in detailed design and code reviews, reviews system performance issues, reviews test plans, and provides technical guidance to development experts and vendors.
The Senior Technical Architecture Specialist will interface with Executive Sponsors, Group Leads, and Lead Functional Architects to convey infrastructure requirements, plan, and schedule deployment of tasks, and resolve any issues that impact the deployment of the Application Delivery systems that cross agencies, divisions and may include federally integrated projects.
Years of Relevant Experience: 5 to 8 years
Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study and 1 to 2 years project management experience
Additional Description:
•Architect systems and design infrastructure/applications for industry specific roles that require integration with statewide systems or applications.
•Will interact with executive level business users or technical experts.
•Will function as an expert related to architectural best practices.
This is not a project management role.
