Senior Technical Consultant Utilities
Overview A Senior Technical Consultant Utilities works as part of a small to medium-sized team throughout the entire software development life cycle. This will include facilitating discussions with business subject matter experts, documenting requirements, designing a solution based on the designated software applications, configuring software, testing software modifications, rolling out production environments, training clients, and providing production support. Job Duties + + Own the design and delivery of the billing and rates functional solution. + Lead requirements gathering workshops to intimately understand existing client billing and rates processes, determine future state goals and identify gaps. + Lead the end-to-end configuration of the Oracle Utilities software solution. + Document future-state business process definitions required configuration and functional designs for necessary extension development. + Implement of Complex Billing using plan extensions and conditional billing. + Ensure smart meter integration using real time pricing and AMI smart meter billing with interval usage data configuration and setup. + Manage the data and tariff changes for price configuration in regulated and deregulated markets. + Define mains and sub transactions and assign them in the rates for account using integration points for Device Management. + Implement end unit and string test necessary configuration. + Support functional and system and integration testing and training activities related to respective functional area of expertise. + Execute and enforce environment management discipline ensuring efficient management of billing and rates configuration. + Support go-live and deployment activities associated with billing and rates functionality and processes. Qualifications + + Travel: This position may require up to 20% travel. + Education: Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field Required Experience + + 10 -year experience working in a technical consulting position with proven knowledge on EDM and Billing integration, smart meter integration and strong knowledge of Utilities Solution Software and Meter Data Management application within the energy industry. + Experience utilizing the complete Software Development Lifecycle + Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Billing for smart meters + Strong knowledge on Energy Data Management and the technical components of billing integration + Experience with smart meter integration using real time pricing and time of use + Experience defining mains and sub transactions and assign them in the rates for account using integration points for Device Management and FICA. + Experience presenting and winning white papers + Experience with Green field implementation of regulated and Deregulated Electricity + Implementation of Complex Billing using plan extensions and Conditional Billing. + Solid logic, analytical skills and technical skills (e.g. Windows, SQL Server or Oracle, Crystal Reports) + Experience with HTML, XML, XSL and XSLT + Development experience with SOA and Web Services + Development experience with ASP.NET, C#.NET, VB.NET, and PL/SQL About the position: + Department: Solutions Delivery + Physical Work Location: Remote + Language of work: English + Company Location: Oakville, Ontario L6H 0C3 + Compensation range 110,000 CND -140,000 CND + Discretionary incremental raises based on performance. + Discretionary quarterly bonuses of up to 10% of annual salary based on performance. + Type of employment – Full- time Permanent position Benefits included: + + + Supplemental Dental Insurance + Supplemental Vision Insurance + Prescription Insurance + Supplemental Life and Accident Insurance + Paid Vacation Time + Paid Company Holidays + Home Office Stipend + Stipend for cellphone/Wi-Fi use + Company Provided Equipment   Powered by JazzHR
