Senior Technical Customer Engineer (Field Service Engineer)
Provide on-site technical support to customers to promote EDI technology. Support could be in the form of start-up service, maintenance, training, or general technical counseling.Perform a detailed review of the project assigned prior to departure to ensure proper drawings of equipment are attained, have an understanding of function capability for each component and communicate with customer, engineers or the technology department if questions exist.Perform the maintenance necessary to enable the customer to begin or continue their operation.  This can include; splitting and cleaning, replacing defective parts of the machine, adjust clearances, install and or assemble equipment.Responsible for preparing a tool box with the correct set of tools and items necessary to perform their duties at the customer’s facility.Use various hand and power tools, hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks to complete the service call.Coordinate and schedule calls required at the customer's facility in order to accommodate the customers’ requirements.Summarize on a timely basis within one week of the visit the issues that were covered at the customer's facility in the form of a written service report. By doing so, this insures documentation for future reference and gives guidance to our engineering department to provide corrective action where required.Provide technical support when telephone calls are received from customers.  Support would include providing written instructions, verbal instructions or any communication needed to answer a customer. Consult with engineering and/or manufacturing as necessary to resolve a customer issue.Provide content to help support the Field Service Team’s repetitive issues list shared with the engineering team quarterly to help identify and resolve reoccurring problems in the field.Prepare Field Service quotations.Monitor our competitors field service pricing.Provide support to the Rework & Spare Parts Departments by actively selling rework services and/or replacement spare parts.Support the New Die Sales Team: This can include the collection of specifications, or passing on leads relating to new projects to the new dies sales teams.Support the Finance Department with payment follow up and collections.Support the Rework Sales Team with negotiation, shipping coordination and payment reminders.
