Join JRC’s Missiles and Space Team! We are actively searching for an experienced Senior Technical Editor to support mission-critical Navy programs. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive development, design, and configuration management of technical documentation. This includes creating detailed manuals, guides, reports, and standard operating procedures that are essential for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Your work will ensure that all technical information is accurately captured, clearly presented, and easily accessible, thereby supporting the effective execution of Navy programs. You will collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information, ensuring that all documentation meets the highest standards of quality and compliance. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our technical communications and documentation processes. As a Senior Technical Editor with JRC, you will... Develop and maintain templates and template indices to ensure they are current and aligned. Develop internal and external standard operation procedures and policies. Provide quality assurance support, including setting up and maintaining quality templates and performing quality reviews. Perform tasks within Navy systems such as DOORS, LiveLink , SWSNet , SIPRNET, etc., to set up and maintain program-specific and internal documentation. Support and contribute to internal communication tools. Deliver program status updates for external program reporting. Create program briefs, status reports, memorandums, formal letters, proposed revisions to ordnance documents (OD), Strategic Systems Programs Instructions (SSP Inst), and other documentation as required by the Program Manager. Assist the Program Manager with systems-engineering-related tasks for the program. What you bring to the table... A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university. 10+ years of technical editing experience, particularly supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs. Experience starting a program from inception and establishing standardized practices. An Active DoD security clearance at the SECRET level (or above) or held a clearance within the past 2 years. Excellent written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills. Self-starter, motivated and works well as part of a team with good interpersonal skills, including a passionate and can-do attitude. Strong problem-solving skills. Able for CONUS travel up to 10%
