What You Will Do: The Sr. Manager of Reactive Technical Support provides technical leadership and guidance to a team of technicians responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting packaging equipment on the production floor. This role focuses on troubleshooting, prioritization, training, and performance management to ensure efficient operations and minimize downtime. The Sr. Manager drives continuous improvement through root cause analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams. + Technical Expertise and Guidance : Possess deep technical knowledge of packaging equipment and processes to effectively guide and support technicians in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues on the production floor. This includes providing expert advice, interpreting technical data, and recommending solutions. + Prioritization and Resource Allocation : Prioritize maintenance and repair activities based on production impact and urgency, effectively allocating resources and coordinating technicians to address critical issues quickly. This includes managing workload, delegating tasks, and ensuring efficient response times. + Training and Skill Development : Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for technicians to enhance their technical skills and troubleshooting abilities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving. + Team Performance Management and Development : Monitor technician performance, provide regular feedback and coaching, and identify opportunities for skill development and training to ensure a high-performing and continuously improving technical team. This includes setting performance expectations, conducting performance reviews, and implementing development plans. + Cross-Functional Collaboration : Effectively communicate and collaborate with production, engineering, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment on maintenance priorities, address production challenges, and implement solutions that minimize downtime and optimize performance. What We Are Looking For: Required Qualifications: + Education : Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Automation, etc.) strongly preferred; equivalent experience and relevant certifications will be considered + Experience : 8-10 years of experience in a technical capacity within a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of successfully leading and developing technical teams + Job-Specific Experience/Skills : Extensive knowledge of packaging equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; experience with PLC programming, machine analysis, and root cause analysis; strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously + Technical Skills : Proficiency in PLC programming, machine shop procedures, electromechanical systems, and basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets). Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations is preferred. + Physical Requirements : Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures; ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time; ability to life up to 50 pounds occasionally. Preferred Qualifications: + Industry Certifications : Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), Six Sigma certifications (Green Belt, Black Belt), or certifications related to specific packaging equipment or technologies (e.g. PLC programming certifications from Rockwell Automation, Siemens, etc.) + Experience with Specific Packaging Technologies : Demonstrated experience with specific packaging technologies relevant to cosmetics operations (e.g. Bottle Loaders, Fillers, Cappers, Labeling Equipment, Cartoning Machines, Bundlers, etc.) + Experience in a Regulated Industry : Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., FDA, GMP) with knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements. + Project Management Experience : Proven ability to manage complex technical projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and reporting. + Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Expertise : Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and leading continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
