As a **Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM)** at **CNN Digital** , you will play a key leadership role in advancing our privacy tooling, performance, and overall efficiency within our Core Platforms and Architecture CMS teams. This position demands a deep technical understanding of privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), tooling infrastructure, and performance optimization within content management systems (CMS) and the wider technology eco-system. You will work closely with engineering, product, legal, and compliance teams to build and scale tools that meet regulatory standards and drive performance improvements across the platform. You will need an in-depth technical knowledge to be capable of working with the discreet teams across the org including a baseline software development understanding. **Responsibilities:** + **Privacy Tooling & Compliance** : + Own the strategy, development, and execution of privacy-focused tooling solutions for CNN Digital’s Core Platforms. + Collaborate with legal, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, and others) are adhered to through tooling infrastructure. + Lead the implementation and operationalization of privacy protection tools within CMS and platform services. + Conduct assessments and audits to identify privacy risks and develop mitigation strategies. + **Performance Optimization** : + Spearhead performance improvement initiatives within Core Platforms, particularly the CMS systems. + Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for platform performance, particularly around content delivery speeds, user experience, and scalability. + Work with engineering teams to optimize performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and scale platform infrastructure as needed. + Build dashboards and reports from metrics available across performance platforms + **Platform Operations** + Work with the Platform Teams to enhance the Release Management process, while ensuring security compliance in the release infrastructure. + Enhance the Deployment Management of major production deployments of the core platform and adjacent platforms and reliably communicate deploys across teams. + Collaborate across teams to automate JIRA Integrations between our code base, code builds, and deployments. + **Cross-functional Collaboration** : + Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, data privacy, security, and legal teams to design and implement privacy-focused features while maintaining high system performance. + Lead project timelines, resource allocation, and communication across multiple teams to ensure successful and timely project delivery. + Champion best practices for performance optimization and privacy protection within the organization. + **Tooling and Automation** : + Develop tooling and automation to streamline workflows for compliance monitoring, performance tracking, and privacy audits. + Ensure tooling solutions integrate seamlessly with the broader CNN Digital platform and CMS ecosystem. + Maintain a forward-looking view on new privacy regulations and emerging technologies in privacy tooling and platform performance. + **Leadership & Strategy** : + Influence the broader technical strategy for the platform services team, ensuring privacy and performance considerations are incorporated into roadmap planning. + Mentor and guide junior program managers and cross-functional team members in navigating complex technical challenges related to privacy and performance. + Provide leadership in defining and implementing architectural improvements that drive long-term scalability, reliability, and compliance. **Requirements:** + **Experience** : + 2+ years in technical program management, with 1+ years in platform infrastructure, platform services, or CMS architecture team roles. + Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects with a focus on privacy tooling and performance optimization. + In-depth knowledge of global data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and how to implement solutions that comply with these regulations. + Experience with privacy management platforms, performance monitoring tools, and content management systems. + Background in Software Development or Architecture + **Skills** : + Strong technical background with a deep understanding of CMS systems, platform services, and privacy tooling. + Expertise in performance optimization, load testing, and scalability of platform infrastructure. + Excellent project management skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive initiatives from conception through execution. + Software engineering and development skills and foundations in one modern language (e.g. Java, Python, etc) and an understanding of modern DB technologies (e.g. Postgres) + **Leadership** : + Strong leadership abilities with the ability to influence across teams and manage ambiguity. + Experience mentoring technical teams and program managers to ensure growth and the successful execution of projects. + Proven communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. + **Preferred** : + Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CDN technologies. + Familiarity with agile and scrum methodologies. + Certifications or training in data privacy, security, or performance optimization. **About CNN Digital:** CNN Digital is at the forefront of delivering news, entertainment, and live content across multiple platforms.
