Role Summary
The EG Affiliates Team is looking for a highly motivated TPM to join our Gurgaon team to help build out exciting and innovative initiatives and products for the Strategic Partnerships and Affiliates. We are a team of highly motivated leaders aspiring to take the EG affiliates business to the next level. Our purpose is to extend the reach and amplifying EG’s brands by connecting with travelers where they choose to discover and book travel. We deliver value by partnering with thousands of businesses and individuals, helping them to monetize their audience through branded EG travel products.
The potential candidate will be eager to take on challenges and support the team in meeting our ambitious goals. We are looking for someone who can drive increasingly complex technical projects requiring coordination within an organization, across functions and across the globe. To proactively identify & mitigate risks to ensure success of the program.
What you'll do:
• Stays current on industry trends and serves as an expert on the software development lifecycle and Agile engineering practices, coaching others when needed.
• Recommends and plans for application of Agile methodologies vs. traditional methodologies, based on comparison of various approaches to achieve the most effective development outcome.
• Identifies appropriate Agile engineering practices (e.g., Extreme Programming techniques such as pair programming and test-driven development) and coaches others in applying in software development projects.
• Leads and mentors others in Agile ceremonies.
• Participates in Agile sprint planning with Product and Engineer leaders.
• Integrates timelines and milestones across projects, identifying areas of synergy or dependency.
• Determines actual or potential gaps in resourcing for projects and recommends strategies to mitigate.
• Evaluates the progress of projects and makes adjustments (e.g., to task order or timeline) to keep the project on track.
• Defines team governance and control.
• Builds the basic structure of a program (possibly from scratch) that may include: Business case, prioritization alignment, team engagement, identifying a sponsor, identifying stakeholders, 'sales' pitch to leadership, budget, etc.
• Defines and implements processes to improve team execution and delivery.
• Leads proactive identification and mitigation of issues and risks. Leverages experience to anticipate risks in advance of impacts.
• Creates, tracks and reports on project budget. Drive budget approval process.
• Leads increasingly adaptive, ambiguous programs or highly complex technical projects.
• Facilitates collaboration with different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop effective solutions to issues.
• Strives for optimum organizational efficiency by applying systems thinking across boundaries and making recommendations about policies/ processes.
• Takes a whole systems approach to analyze issues and implements holistic solutions by ensuring that linkages between structure, people, process and technology are made.
• Partners with the business to understand and ensure connection to overarching strategy and program and ensures prioritization is aligned with strategy.
• Evaluates existing patterns in and across systems to identify & implement improvements.
• Anticipates and recognizes bottlenecks in work processes between teams and makes suggestions for ongoing improvement.
• Leads implementation teams and ensures the successful execution of new ideas or approaches.
• Coordinates with team to define the measures of success for process improvements.
• Develops product phase-out planning in line with the product roadmap. Determines different phase milestones and priorities.
• Understands and can manage and deliver any individual part of the PDL.
• Establishes working relationships with stakeholders and builds rapport to become a trusted advisor.
• Identifies strategic issues and raises questions to help customers explore and understand their wider business challenges in the context of the project/program.
• Utilizes thorough understanding of current business environment & objectives in order to guide program delivery and outcomes.
• Assists leaders or more senior team members in leveraging knowledge of current business environment & objectives to guide program delivery and outcomes.
• Breaks down complex information (e.g., legal, operational risk, and regulatory data) and impact to the business into understandable terminology and actionable concepts.
• Uses technical knowledge and expertise to generate comprehendible, broadly-applicable communications based on new and non-typical data.
• Designs differentiated technical communications (content focus, style, presentation, etc.) for various internal and external audiences based on an understanding of their differing levels of familiarity with technical language.
• Uses written and verbal communication skills effectively to confidently convey technical and business concepts to senior management and some executive audiences.
• Exhibits storytelling and persuasive influencing techniques that build trust with team and partners and establish long-term relationships.
• Proactively contributes to cross team collaboration and leads alignment of work with broader initiatives tailoring messaging to audience and filters relevant communication.
Who you are:
8+ years driving technical projects with software development teams in an agile environment
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
Strong Program Management skills including experience with Agile and Scrum Practices along with Code Development
Demonstrates a critical understanding of functional information (e.g., legal, data/metrics, and technical information) and is able to accurately answer relevant questions
Communicates a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners (Cross-brand Collaboration)
Experience tailoring communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for different audiences as appropriate
Actively seeks diverse feedback on work and anticipates feedback to address it proactively
Delivery of a minimum of 3-4 large, multi-functional programs
AWS/Cloud and Database knowledge is a plus
Experience with CI/CD framework and related tools, cloud computing, traffic management, and analysis, project management tools, web technologies and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
Experience collaborating with Developers, Technical Product Managers, UX Designers, Product Managers and other team members from broad cross-sections of the organization
Experience using tools like Jira and Confluence for agile project management and reporting
