The Opportunity

Our location in Irving, TX currently has an opportunity for a Senior Technical Service Trainer.  The Senior Technical Service Trainer is responsible for Provides specialized technical training expertise, training methodologies and resources to ensure technical training mastery of US Field Service/Support trainers.

Work with training teams to determine strategic training plans and monitor tactics that will support commitments to Service Education.Lead on-site instrument repair/upkeep process for CSO training instruments.Uses project management skills to continually assess and optimize technical training outcomes in close consultation with ISD and management.Mentors less experienced trainers on classroom delivery, classroomResponsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.Conducts periodic reviews of training metric data to assess the overall effectiveness of Service Education training programs.Performs annual technical trainer mastery audits and provides management with results and recommendations.Works closely with upper management in offering recommendations for trainer development and/or remediation activities and provides coaching to trainers based upon agreed plans.Coordinates cross training schedule for all Field Service Engineers, and Technical Service trainers.Works with other functional areas to coordinate reviews of instrumentation rationalization, parts usage, and training rooms.Escalates problems to appropriate resource levels for an agreed solution.Act as a liaison between CSO and other internal organizations to funnel field concerns back to the program engineering groups.Interfaces with external Abbott departments to obtain instruments and technical resources in support of technical employee training.Provides back up for managers on non-supervisory tasks relevant to classroom training.Provides SME input to support new-course development and course maintenance.Delivers training in the event of a training scheduling need.

Sphere of influence:

Influence US Field Service/Support Trainers; Field Service Representatives, and peers, ensuring quality repairs on training systems and continual improvements in classroom instruction.

Product Scope:

Joint accountability for effectiveness of service/support instrument training as well asproviding input to management at all levels.

Financial:

Shared parts reduction goal with the field service.

Decision-making:

Makes timely technical and operational decisions with medium risk or consequences to the

business. Confers with manager on high-risk issues.

Customer relationships:

Cultivates relationships with internal and external customers that will positively impact.Service Training while ensuring training needs are met.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Medical Technology, Engineering or related fields or equivalent experience in laboratory environment or Field Service with 6-9 years’ experience preferred.Knowledge of regulations and standards affective IVDs and Biologics.In-depth product knowledge within specified range of Abbott diagnostic instruments.Familiarity with Field Service operations and procedures.Previous experience in a training delivery and/or training projectTravel 5%

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
