Senior Technical Support Engineer - Middleware/JBoss

The Red Hat Global Support Services (GSS) team is looking for a skilled Java expert to join us as a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join us in South Korea. In this role, you will be part of a team of middleware engineers supporting Red Hat Application Services. You’ll provide an important level of technical assistance to ensure that our highly valued customers get the most out of the offerings while you become an expert in Red Hat’s technologies like Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), Red Hat Single Sign-On, and Red Hat OpenShift.
As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will use your skills and passion for performing investigations, troubleshooting to resolve customer issues, debugging source code, and patching and enhancing it. You’ll need to have functional expertise and solid industry experience to provide support for our enterprise subscription customers. This is a great opportunity to become part of an open source organization where we believe in giving our associates the right platform, tools, and freedom to work on source code and contribute to it.

What you will do

Troubleshoot problems related to the Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform

Help customers configure Red Hat Middleware development environments

Build in-house replication environments using various servers while writing test cases and creating similar setups to help customers resolve issues

Learn new technologies; write and publish blogs, whitepapers, and knowledge base articles that push technical knowledge out to our customers and the community

Provide a high level of technical assistance to ensure that our customers get the most out of Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform offering and middleware solutions

Offer developer-to-developer assistance for Red Hat Middleware and other application technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Mobile, etc.

Occasionally work and be on call during weekends and holidays

What you will bring

Solid customer service skills

Familiarity with application server technologies like Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Red Hat JBoss Application Server, WildFly, Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere, Apache Geronimo, or GlassFish

Familiarity with web servers like Apache HTTP Server, Oracle iPlanet, Oracle HTTP Server, IBM HTTP Server (IHS), NGINX, or lighttpd

Advanced troubleshooting and debugging skills; passion for problem-solving and investigation

Experience with JEE and related server technologies like JMS, Web Services, Servlets, JSP, JSF, JDBC or Datasource, Hibernate, Spring, etc.

Fluent language skills in Korean and English

The following are considered a plus:

Certifications like Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Application Server Administration or Red Hat Certified JBoss Administrator (RHCJA)

Experience with the Linux or Unix operating systems; any Oracle, Red Hat, or Suse Linux certification

C and C++ programming skills

PHP programming skills

Knowledge of Red Hat Single Sign-On or Keycloak

Understanding of OpenID Connect (OIDC) and OAuth

Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
