As a Technical Writer on the ECR team, you will:
-Dive deep into ECR features to create user guides, API references, and tutorials tailored for developers, IT professionals, and DevOps engineers.
-Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver clear, accessible, and customer-focused content.
-Simplify complex workflows and provide documentation that makes cloud technologies approachable and user-friendly.
-Leverage your familiarity with container registries, Docker, and Kubernetes to craft relevant, actionable, and impactful content.

Key job responsibilities
Content Development and Ownership
-Author and deliver high-quality conceptual, procedural, API documentation, and UI text for developer tools and services.
-Take ownership of the documentation experience for your assigned service, identifying and driving improvements and enhancements.
-Build and maintain content plans for major feature launches, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
-Advocate for the customer by ensuring documentation addresses real-world use cases and removes friction from workflows.
Collaboration and Feedback
-Act as the first “customer,” testing and providing technical feedback on new features and experiences to ensure clarity and usability.
-Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to produce clear, accessible, and customer-focused documentation.
-Gather and analyze customer engagement data, documentation feedback, and user behavior to continuously improve content performance and relevance.
Team Development and Leadership
-Contribute to team writing standards and processes, mentoring other writers and sharing best practices to evolve how technical documentation is approached.
-Drive cross-functional collaboration with other AWS Documentation teams to maintain consistency and align with broader organizational content strategies.
-Provide insights and thought leadership within the AWS documentation Team to support innovation and growth across the organization.
Innovation and Process Improvement
-Innovate within the role by identifying new opportunities to enhance content delivery, streamline processes, or leverage emerging tools and technologies.
-Lead or contribute to special projects, such as developing documentation templates, improving internal workflows, or exploring AI/ML applications in technical writing.
Agile and Strategic Alignment
-Develop, negotiate, and drive documentation and content strategies that align with engineering and product roadmaps.
-Participate in agile development cycles, contributing to planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to stay aligned with service team goals.
