REQ12006 Senior Technician, Property Services (Open)

POSITION SUMMARY:Provide high quality standards of customer services and technical supports in one or more departments, ensuring the effective and economic operations in accordance to the department policies and procedures. He/she may also be assigned to supervise a shift operation and for this he/she needs to work closely with the Supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Carry out repairing servicing/maintenance works according to the established schedule and high quality of finishing work,Operate assigned machines/ equipment or system as to provide continuous and consistent utilities required for operationsParticipating in the maintenance of inspecting, repairing and technical problems solving for various kind of equipment, facilities and systemsParticipating in the maintenance of fit-out works such as plastering, painting, decoration finishing……etc.Report immediately to Supervisor any difficulties in completing jobs,Leading and guiding the technicians to achieve the work target,Properly coordinating with colleagues from different departments to achieve harmonic working environment,Capable of monitoring the contractors’ work and possessing the knowledge of judging the workmanship and job quality,Possessing the personality of good obedience and strictly follow the instructions from supervisor,Maintain and ensure all tools and equipment are in good order at all times,Assist in maintaining an effective quality, safety and environmental compliance programs,Conduct adequate control of all hazardous substances, flammable materials, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks,Assure that buildings are maintained in a safe, clean, and operationally effective condition. Also maintains the Quality corrective action system,Inspect and check to ensure adequate provision of first-aid and welfare facilities are provided at all designated locations,Project himself with his staffs as an efficient and professional member of the Property Services and Maintenance Team,Project good grooming standards when dealing with customer,Adhere to all company policies and procedures,Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors and relevant departments,Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by superiors from time to time,

QUALIFICATIONS:Experience: 3 - 4 years working experience from a 5-star hotel or large commercial property, industry building, shopping centre in a similar capacity

Education:  Secondary school certificate in Electrical, Building Services, Mechanical or other rated discipline, or equivalent professional training is preferredCandidates without any trade certificates but with solid experience will also be considered

Skills / Competencies :   Good command in written and spoken English / Sinhala / TamilWorking knowledge in PC skills and use of all MS Office applications, including outlook and power point presentationGood technical knowledge of E&M systems and equipmentSolid hands-on experience on either:repairing for electrical system in either electrical trade or electronic equipment aspect, repairing for mechanical system in either mechanical trade or manufacturing process aspect, repairing for air conditioning system or refrigerant coolant equipment in either air conditioning or kitchen coolant equipment, repairing for plumbing and draining system, repairing for LPG / NG feed kitchen equipment or other fuel system, electrical and argon welding for stainless steel and metal work, installing / repairing at fit-out builders work trade,Holding of Local Safety Certificate (if any),Good leadership and able to make sound decision and perform other duties as and when required very last minute and at time of emergencyExcellent interpersonal / presentation skills are required to deal effectively with all levels of staffs, contractors, suppliers and vendorsHands-on and possess good problem solving skills and attend to detailsIndependent and able to work with minimal supervisionFrequently / Occasional ascending or descending ladders and/or ramps and ability to work in high rise siteAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to work on flexible shift including overnight, weekends and holiday on rotation basisAbility to work on overtime when neededGood health, physically fit and excellence in personal grooming and presentation
