About the role

This role is based at our Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham, UK. As a Senior Technician within Operations, you will join a passionate Manufacturing team dedicated to ensuring the performance of world leading diagnostic products drive global progress. Your contributions will be instrumental in upholding our reputation for outstanding performance and groundbreaking ideas.

A day in the life:

Drive the production schedule for the week's work to completion

Responsible for multiple scheduled maintenance activities, driving on time completion, ensuring actions are followed up

Monitor inventory discrepancies and take corrective actions to implement permanent solutions

Complete process sign off and release of intermediate products into stock

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned process(es)

Keys to Success:

Actively participates in Deviation and Non-conformances, providing support data for investigational review

Set and meet effective goals while creating and keeping deadlines

Take ownership for your own work to ensure it is completed 'right first time'

Actively aids others in ensuring team output is 'right first time'

Acts as a mentor, trainer and role model for others in the team


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

Educated to GCSE level with a minimum 2 years' relevant experience or a relevant degree with 1 year experience

Previous experience in a laboratory environment with subject matter expert understanding of QMS, EHS and Manufacturing processes

Experience in workload management and planning

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Able to carry out higher level trouble shooting

Able to review and write operating procedures (SOPs)

Previous involvement in improvement initiatives

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and understand chemical hygiene

Able to handle solutions and chemicals

Essentials functions may require lifting objects up to 20kg

Willing to work overtime in the short-term notice, including weekends to support department as needed
