The Eaton Aerospace team have an opportunity for a Test Equipment/Facility Design Engineer supporting the design, development and qualification of aircraft fuel and inerting system solutions.
The role is based at our Eaton site in Titchfield, Hampshire.
This role will be the team focal point for the design and manufacture of new test fixtures and test equipment, as well as supporting the Engineering Services Manager in maintaining the regulatory compliance of the extensive test facilities.
Responsibilities: Lead the requirements capture, design development and implementation of test rigs, test stands and fixturesManage the test equipment requests, scoping the required work and resource requirementsDefine test equipment design requirements from functional needsComplete test rig and test fixture design (Knowledge of Creo preferred, training available)Support Engineering Services Manager in maintaining test facility regulatory complianceCoordinate and lead the subcontracted test rig and fixture design, support to factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and rig handoverPrepare and review of technical documentation (engineering proposals, performance specifications, technical reports and papers) in accordance with company proceduresProject management of allocated design tasks, defining time and implementation planCreate and maintain working relationships across the multi-disciplinary teamsWork individually or as a part of a team and with other engineering or cross-functional disciplines to deliver as per customer needs and expectationsDemonstrate Eaton’s core values and Vision
Qualifications: Apprenticeship in an Engineering Discipline or HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject5 years working in a relevant roleKnowledge of aircraft fuel system components is preferredKnowledge of mechanical engineering principles including design of structural components, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsExperience of writing technical reports / requirement specificationsExperience of test rig and fixture designUnderstanding of test rig controls and instrumentation - LabVIEW awareness preferred Working understanding of ATEX regulations and associated equipmentKnowledge of risk assessment and risk register documentationCommunication, Responsibility, Teamwork, Problem Solving, Creativity, Innovation, Leadership, Technical Learning, Strong Organizational and Planning Skills
