If you’re a Senior Test Engineer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. The Senior Test Engineer reports to Technical Leadership and is primarily responsible for the design and support of moderate to high complexity test systems and equipment. This role also involves mentoring other engineers and supporting process improvements. The position operates under moderate to low supervision, making independent technical decisions based on established precedents, with guidance sought for novel or controversial issues. Additionally, this role may involve project-specific relationship-building with customers, suppliers, and other entities.
What You Will Be Doing
Plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phases of projects.Performs work involving conventional engineering practices and standards, but with complex features such as conflicting design requirements, non-standard tools, materials, or equipment, and challenging coordination requirements.Designs, supports, improves, and tests moderate to high complexity test systems and equipment, ensuring designs meet testability and reliability criteria. Independently troubleshoots and analyzes component/system problems.Participates in and promotes process improvements within assigned areas; contributes to the development of departmental and organizational procedures.Participates in the creation and evaluation of new product test requirements and test strategies, providing estimates for new test equipment.Trains other members of the test team and production technicians on the theory and design of existing test equipment. Creates electrical schematics and 3D models.Demonstrates a solid understanding of PLCs and automation. Implements robotics, vision systems, linear actuators, servos, VFDs, motion control, and motor control. Proficient in ladder logic, arrays, tags, programming, SCADA, and the deployment of complex HMIs. Possesses a thorough understanding of data acquisition hardware and associated programming.What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) or international equivalent in a technical/science field.2-5 years of professional engineering experience or a combination of experience and advanced degrees required.Advanced engineering knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of component functions and testing requirements. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, drawings, and standards. Complete understanding of a system and its components.Advanced written/verbal communication and presentation skills; proficient in technical writing (procedures, reports, etc.).Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, along with strong analytical calculation skills.Competent in accuracy analyses, instrumentation calibration theory, and tolerance stack-ups.Participates in setting the technical direction for project teams and communicates effectively with customers.Advanced knowledge of multiple groups of test systemsProficient in using and understanding analytic, modeling, and/or design software/tools, as appropriate.Strong knowledge of internal information management systems (e.g., ERP, MRP, PLC, and Document Storage systems) applications.Application window is anticipated to close 30 days from original posting date.
