Organization description 

You will part of the MN RAN Cloud Plartform HW Department that is accountable for Cloud HW solutions used in MN cloud products like AirScale Cloud RAN BTS, AirScale RNC etc. We drive Cloud Platform HW evolution according to internal user, customer, and market requirements. We are responsible for entity level requirements, architecture, specifications, and configurations of Cloud Platform HW solutions utilized in MN cloud products. We develop, integrate, verify, maintain, and support Cloud Platform HW solutions including embedded SW together with selected partners like Dell and HPE. In addition, we also maintain Nokia AirFrame and older legacy HW solutions that are widely used by customers around the world.  

Team description 

Your team will be part of the MN RAN Cloud Platform HW Department. The team will work with the integration and verification of the Cloud HW solutions together with partners like Dell and HPE. Special focus will be put to expand the Cloud HW and eSW testing from component level to cover the E2E use cases of the Cloud HW. In addition, your team will be responsible for development and maintenance of selected embedded SW domains.  

Job description 

We are looking for Senior Test Engineer to join our Cloud HW team.  

You will be part of a team that will be responsible for the integration and verification of the Partner HW and embedded SW solutions. The team will closely collaborate with selected partners in Bangalore.  

 

Qualifications

Required task specific skills: 

Expertise in Cloud technology and Intel x86 based cloud hardware architecture. 

Expertise in common cloud management interfaces, for example IPMI, REDFISH, RESTFUL etc. 

Expertise in embedded SW (BMC, BIOS, uBoot, FPGA, PCIe controller, CPLD firmware etc.) 

Expetise in common Linux OS functions and services 

Expertise in in Linux scripting and SW developer skills, using for example Python, Bash or C/C++ 

Expertise in IP networks and different protocols (Ethernet, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, TFTP, BOOTP, etc.) 

Familiarity with Mobile networks architecture (4G, 5G) in system level and understanding the of the virtual network functions (VNFs/CNFs) 

Good Cloud RAN and Cloud Platform knowledge, including Linux, CaaS platforms, RedHat OCP, NADCM, NEAT, RANNIC, vDU, vCU 

Familiarity with Dell and HPE server solutions and Dell and HPE HW management solutions like ILO and iDRAC

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN 

You will work as a Senior Test Engineer and your duties will include all kinds of activities related to integration and verification of the Cloud HW and embedded software solutions. Your responsibilities will include for example: 

Organizing activities in all embedded software (eSW) testing phases: requirements review, test planning, test case design, automation design, test execution, reporting and documentation, reviews and inspections 

Verify eSW features and functions according to requirements 

Verify eSW releases covering both functional and non-functional areas, i.e. performance test, security test, robustness test, compliance test etc. 

Ensure eSW quality by discovering bugs by best effort, performing bug hunting by exploratory testing 

Setup and maintain end-to-end test environments and testing tools 

Regular knowledge sharing and support in your area of expertise 

Planning test automation, implementing and automating planned test cases by scripting 

Performing root cause (RCA) and escape defect analysis (EDA) for escaping issues 

Defining and implementing improvement actions to increase quality and efficiency of testing activities
