This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
The Team:
The ADAS Virtualization Testing team is responsible for all the testing and release activities of the simulation and performance analysis products to internal development, testing, and Validation groups. The ability to simulate the complex environments the vehicle will encounter, running simulations robustly at scale, and making sure simulations have high fidelity compared to the real world are all critical throughout the simulation products lifecycle.
Our virtualization products cover a high range of testing methodologies including closed-loop simulation, open-loop playback, performance analysis metrics, SiL/HiL testing environments and more.
We are looking for a Test engineer that has a combination of high technical skills and systematic view, with the goal of ensuring our customers’ success.
As a Senior SW Testing Engineer, you will be responsible to:
Testing simulation packages across different types of simulation products. Approving new features, E2E testing and Regression.Analyze customers issues and requests – Try to resolve by using available methods, communicate issues with the simulation Dev and product teams and drive resolution.Execute and review the results of Monitoring pipelines to protect the simulation development flow.Triaging and debugging failures in simulation tools, working with Dev teams to resolve the issues and verify the fixes.Develop automated testing scenarios for testing ADAS features making sure that the E2E flow works according to the customer expectation.Create customer level documentation with detailed instructions for scenarios creation and settings. Training our customers during workshops events or personal sessions.Supporting the simulation customers in their tasks of creating simulation scenarios for testing the systems. Support their Jenkins pipelines and cloud flows.Fidelity testing to ensure that the test results are accurate and consistent.As part of this role, you will gain expertise in our ADAS driving system and our testing platform (simulation and playback), know the interfaces between system under test components and the simulation, how they are being tested and simulated and how they affect the components receiving them. You will work in a team that will be responsible for testing GM’s most advanced Simulation tools and ensuring the success of all the customers that are using it.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
B.Sc. Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.Over 4 years of experience in software validation of real-time embedded systems.Experience working in Linux/cloud environments, CI/CD workflows, git.Good systems engineering capability and understanding.coding ability (python or similar) – for analysis, visualization, triaging of system issues.Working with multiple engineering groups in different time zoneFamiliar with QA methodology. tests writing and bug life cycle.Experience in software integration, working at customer sites.Proactive approach to find and resolve issues that you identify during your work with the Simulation, System under Test and with the customers who are using it.Excellent communication skills.What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
