The Senior Test Engineer-Procedures will work with internal customers and other subject matter experts to identify and conduct tests that verify new technologies and applications of Generac products. This involves 1st principles understanding of the technology, major variable identification, creating and executing test plans and procedures to verify component, product or system capability. This position reports to the Test Engineering Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Designs test plans for prototypes, existing, and competitor products.Setting up test equipment and performing tests without guidance.Perform intermediate data analysis and summarization with a variety of tools while mentoring others.Able to sort out the pertinent issues versus the non-pertinent issues (identify root cause). Basic understanding of the assumptions being made in an approximation. Able to generate several alternative solutions and evaluate their feasibility.Green Belt/Silver: starts and manages CI/6 projects; Mentors others in CI/6 concepts.Demonstrated written communication and presentation skills.Ability to clearly present technical information to technical audiences with limited support. Ability to operate safely in testing environment working with high voltages, temperatures, pressures and energy storage devices.Supports product R&D and verification development test plans (schedule, cost, risk, performance). Acts as resource to mentor and teach less-experienced engineers.Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary.
