Job Advert Role Description
We are looking to employ a Senior Therapist in an exciting role which is an opportunity to provide a therapy to patients receiving treatment within our Private therapy services. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Accredited Therapist (or at least working towards accreditation). The ideal candidate will be working as part of the therapy team, and will be required to identify and deliver appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions to people with varying mental health needs within a hospital in-patient and outpatient setting.

Job responsibilities
- To provide specialist assessment and intervention to patients attending the outpatient service and receiving treatment as an inpatient at the hospital.
- To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
- To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients
- To be available to support clinical MDT reviews and/or support trainee therapists & counsellors with individual case reviews.
- To be able to support wider hospital with psychological input as needed.
Registration and experience:
Essential
• Registration with BABCP / BACP / UKCP / HCPC.
Desirable
• Accreditation with BABCP / BACP / UKCP (or at least working towards).
• Ideally holding a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an out-patient service, you would be able to demonstrate good relationship building both with clients and referrers, and be passionate in the therapy you offer.
• Ideally you will have experience in delivering groups in either outpatient or in-patient settings. We offer a great opportunity to facilitate therapy groups whilst also treating patients through individual therapy. Experience of working with depression, anxiety, psychosis and PTSD is also desirable. Having knowledge and experience of treating patients’ with DBT training skills would be advantageous.
This role provides successful candidates with the opportunity to work on weekdays, evenings, or weekends, depending on their availability.

Bristol Hospital (Stapleton, M32):
Our Grade II listed hospital building is set in extensive grounds, just off the M32 and less than three miles from the centre of Bristol, with free on-site parking. We offer 77 beds over seven wards, providing a wide range of services, including Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU), eating disorders, acute care, rehab and recovery. Our collaborative environment fosters opportunities to gain experience in various services.
