Senior Thermal Calibration Engineer
The Battery Electric Vehicle Thermal Calibration Engineer is responsible for development and validation of thermal calibrations from early mule vehicle to production on the next generation of BEV/Hybrid Propulsion Systems. The calibrator will document and justify all HCP calibration changes through rigorous development and test plans. The calibrator will present and justify changes to lead calibrator and Sr. management as appropriate, as well as work to complete all nominal and off nominal development tasks to ensure the program achieves calibration maturity targets to support SOP Milestone.   The Thermal Calibrator will participate in the Center of Excellence team for their functional areas and  will review any new calibrations in their area, work with other calibrators and controls engineers to ensure initial values for new calibrations are correct by reviewing software change requests in the new release (performed at each new SW release). They will coordinate calibration merges with other functional leads. They have production release responsibility for the HCP SW and Calibrations.   They will support dyno development and vehicle debug activities. They will work closely with electrified controls team to ensure features are working effectively. They will work with the CoE teams to ensure best practices and calibration test processes are followed.   This individual will have also demonstrated the ability to work will with others. They must be a team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments versus personal achievement.   Responsibilities:   • Define calibration values for vehicle control algorithm with respect to program requirements. • Execute DVPs to vehicle program requirements. • Tracks and determine root cause for issues identified during DVP testing through to resolution. • Attend vehicle validation trips 3x times per year to US testing sites. • Create DVPs for new and unique features that are created for assigned program.Basic Qualifications:   • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science from an ABET accredited school or equivalent • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a thermal automotive and calibration field • Ability to author system/component level requirements • High level of analytic ability and creativity • Ability to balance work effectively on multiple issues • Action a disciplined test plan and verification process to ensure quality calibrations are released • Must have strong knowledge of the hybrid powertrain systems • Strong interpersonal communication   Preferred Qualifications:   • Masters degree in Mechanical engineering, Automotive engineering, computer science • Demonstrated leadership with cross functional teams for driving program development • Experience working in Simulink, ETAS-INCA • Experience working with vehicle controls • Knowledge of fundamentals of hydraulic flow dynamics, refrigerant phase change, and heat pump functionality • Previous calibration experience on Electrification Application development  EOE / Disability / Veteran
