Come join Lancope’s threat intelligence team to help protect Lancope’s customers against cyber-attacks. The successful candidate will be part of a global team of security analysts focusing on the changing threat landscape and effect on Lancope’s customers. This position requires a professional with a strong security software and threat analysis background that is capable of identifying and establishing the relationships and processes within and external to Lancope to build an investigative threat research structure and flow. The team will source data across Lancope, i.e. internal product and traffic monitoring groups, as well as through external partner and qualified third-party relationships.
Primary Responsibilities
Senior Threat Intelligence researcher will be responsible for performing the following:
Create new first party Intelligence sources Promote Lancope security thought leadership through media outreach and collaborative reporting Source and analyze data from available product sources across Lancope as well as externally from partners or other qualified third-parties Manage reporting and dissemination of security intelligence and research efforts Monitor, identify, and respond to timely security events Provide data driven insight for internal business intelligence and external communications with media, analysts and/or customers/stakeholders Establish cross-departmental channels to facilitate collaborative research sharing for external reporting and internal business strategy Liaise with key security initiatives and groups within the security industry to better establish Lancope as both a security thought leader and trusted partner Help guide the development by working with product teams
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced threat researcher or incident responder with a history of speaking and publishing on security. A researcher in this role should have a record of creating new research and presenting to industry groups as expert
10+ years direct and tightly integrated experience in security software industry
In depth understanding and knowledge of white hat through black hat security challenges
Proven ability to work with executives/media/journalists/analysts
Strong data analytic skills
Ability to solve complex problems independently
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to apply Threat Intelligence and manage numerous parallel activities
Experience in data mining and working with large, unfiltered data sets highly desirable
