UGL Regional Linx are looking for a passionate enthusiastic Senior Track and Civil Engineer to join our committed and inclusive team. This position sits in our Assets and Engineering team

Job Purpose
To provide support to the UGLRL business as a subject matter expert (SME) in railway track and civil engineering matters, including providing technical advice, providing technical content for scopes, investigations and assurance activities for operations and maintenance of Country Regional Network (CRN), review of designs and management of key track-related systems such as Welded Track Stability Analysis (WTSA).
The role supports the business in assuring that UGL Regional Linx operates the network with integrity and in a technical sound manner, such that the network remains safe and fit for purpose, meeting all performance, reliability and availability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide track and civil technical advice to maintenance, projects, design and asset management functions within the business.
• Participate in the review of designs for track and civil infrastructure from internal and external parties, including routine MPM works, enhancements and third party works.
• Lead technical investigations into root causes of incidents where track or civil infrastructure is suspected to be at fault, and provide expert input into investigations lead by other parties.
• Provide input into the short and long term renewals and maintenance plans of UGLRL in areas such as rerailing, rail grinding, track resurfacing, turnout works, level crossing works and ballast cleaning etc. This may include providing technical input into or leading analysis projects.
• Actively work and provide engineering advice pertaining to their discipline to the assets team to enable them to develop, update and maintain asset strategies for CRN assets.
• Assist in developing, maintaining and updating all standards, manuals, specifications, technical notes and waivers within their discipline area to ensure that they remain safe and fit for purpose.
• Assist the Principal Track and Corridor Engineer in harmonising of the Engineering Standards and Codes managed by TfNSW and the changes required by the business for their discipline.
• Facilitate the analysis of Welded Track Stability annually by maintaining and supporting a WTSA Analysis system and providing technical support and advice to the Infrastructure team in carrying out this analysis.
• Assist the Principal Track and Corridor Engineer in reviewing Third Party Works applications and Development Applications.
• Utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Engineering or related discipline.
• Post graduate qualifications in Engineering or Asset Management highly regarded
• Chartered Professional Engineer status (or eligibility for this status)
• 8 years of practice in track, permanent way or rail geotechnical roles, ideally including a mixture of project delivery, maintenance, design and asset management.
