HID is looking for a Senior Transportation Manager for the Americas region to lead transportation procurement efforts, manage HID Global’s network of freight forwarder partners, enhance business development, and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction. 

Responsibilities include developing key transportation strategies regarding network structure, product flow, distribution, reverse logistics, and supplier management.

As our Senior Transportation Manager, Americas, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

Driving value by leveraging the strategic sourcing process including, but not limited to, RFI/RFP processes, landed cost modeling, industry benchmarking, and scenario optimization for the Americas region Developing and executing category strategies in line with driving best value (cost, quality, and service) across our supply chain Developing and executing negotiation strategies for supply agreements/contracts ensuring supplier accountability, contractual excellence, and service Building critical stakeholder relationships across the Supply Chain and Logistics Team, creating a rapport built on trust, respect, and value delivery Leading the supplier selection, risk assessment and contract negotiation process for key projects Collaborating with internal partners and uses these relationships to lead category strategies, pipeline items and short/medium/long-term goals to support the ongoing delivery of product pipeline Ensuring that appropriate Supplier Relationship Management programs are in place for strategic and critical suppliers in the concerned categories of spend Providing regular progress updates to Senior Leadership and to key internal partners Leading negotiations across critical supply agreements using strong value-based techniques Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on savings and incremental value of sourcing activities Stimulating and supporting innovation by using the supplier base, regularly reviewing market developments, and mobilizing the appropriate internal network Ensuring assumptions, risks, and opportunities are identified, monitored, and reported on to ensure flawless execution Understanding requirements of internal customers in each business area, develops transportation solutions accordingly, and monitors the cost and operational performance of third-party transportation services providers Intaking multimodal projects to drive readiness initiatives and detailed execution Assisting in logistics service provider onboarding, engagement, service enablement, and supports operational plans Leading implementation and process improvement, and securely manages transportation processes Developing operational metrics to meet business requirements Maintaining operational visibility to all shipments in transit by tracking and tracing, communicates in-transit milestones to internal customers, and escalates issues to logistics service providers and/or management, as appropriate Negotiating freight rates with logistics service providers and performs benchmarking analyses to ensure cost-competitiveness Determining key metrics and measures of success for logistics service providers, collects data to assess key performance indicators (KPI)/service level agreement (SLA) adherence to contractual requirements, maintains a metrics dashboard, and ensures accurate milestone reporting Based on metrics data collected, helps conduct periodic logistics services provider performance reviews, and tracks logistics services provider correction of error actions Influencing logistics service provider investments in continuous improvement to reduce costs and risks Managing claims for transport-related cargo loss or damage Seeking opportunities for network optimization through consolidation of shipments, process improvement, and development of analytics tools and mechanisms Exhibiting a constant passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences Representing the HID Global Logistics team and acts as a subject matter expert in cross-functional initiatives Working with regional acquisitions to perform due diligence reviews and align operational processes with global standards and best practices Controlling inbound and outbound freight costs and maintains appropriate balance between lead time and cost Supporting, coaching, and keeping the broader team motivated to improve processes and operations Meeting cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets Complying with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements Managing HID Global’s CTPAT program compliance and related activities

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

 

Experience with all modes of transportation (ocean, air, ground, parcel, rail), creation of standard operating procedures, development of supplier on-boarding documents, inbound/outbound, and warehousing Understanding of pricing models and contract terms Experience in contracting, including but not limited to Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments, and NDAs Understanding of standard procurement processes, supply markets, suppliers and products Experience working in a global environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners Ability to understand and excel within a global supply chain given market dynamics, category complexity, and supply risk management Be comfortable with ambiguity Be curious to learn new skills and in-depth about technology, our customers’ concepts, and pushing your comfort zone Be an effective multi-tasker who navigates a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with grace and efficiency Experience in global trade compliance, security, and supplier compliance auditing Be knowledgeable about dangerous goods or have prior certification in 49CFR, IMDG, IATA regulations Have CSCP or similar industry certification          Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline or relevant experience, and/or: 10+ years of logistics and/or transportation management experience in a global environment, 5+ years of relevant experience in the multimodal transportation industry, 5+ years of driving process improvements experience, 3+ years of driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership Established track record of successful Supply Chain project implementations
