Senior Transportation Manager - Live Operations

Travel will be required. Lead Compliance for DOT / FMCSA / Perdue Fleet Safety **Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities** + Oversee the daily management of the private fleet operations for the Feed, Live, and Chick Delivery operations to meet and exceed customer expectations safety and service goals. + Supervise hourly support driver positions and Private Fleet and Contracted Drivers + Asset utilization of equipment – Create and lead yearly capital requests supporting Senior Director + Reduce delivery expense by seeing out ways to gain efficiencies and drive continuous improvement. + Oversee driver orientation, safety, and animal welfare training. + Establish and maintain monthly cost estimates reviewing KPI and scorecards. + Proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders on related transportation matters + Establish and maintain safety programs and safety culture. + Support strategic direction of the department and company. + Other duties as assigned. **Education and Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in related field. + Knowledge of DOT / FMCSA Compliance + Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. + Five - Ten years of Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Experience + Must be able to multi-task and organize multiple protocols and projects and complete on schedule. + Requires strong analytical skills, ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level. + Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization, provide excellent customer service, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. + Requires knowledge of and a commitment to team performance and effective coaching. + Requires travel to other facilities and plants for meeting and/or company business. **Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements** Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders. **Compensation** The salary range for this position is $111,000.00k - $139,000.00k per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).
