**What We're Looking For** HNTB is seeking an experienced, organized, motivated Senior Transportation Planner for our Los Angeles to support the Transportation Planning Group and support the firm’s renowned planning, design, and engineering services. The Transportation Planning Group is centered on applying comprehensive planning and design solutions to respond to shifts in the transportation industry, foster community development and create new innovations to meet the needs of our clients. Ideal Candidate We are seeking an individual with a minimum of 10 years of experience and well-versed in a range of community development and urban planning services, including but not limited to transit planning, network redesign, and technological integration, Complete Streets, emerging mobility policy, planning and design, area-wide and corridor planning, Transit Oriented Development (TOD), Transportation Demand Management (TDM), parking and curbside management, and equitable policies, performance planning and engagement practices. The ideal candidate shall have experience in managing complex projects and working alongside multiple team members, including primes, subconsultants, and third-party vendors. They must be well-versed in research and technical aspects of transportation planning. They may lead and/or support major tasks on large-scale project and manage entire projects and teams on small-scale planning projects. They must understand concept development through project implementation and the methods required to achieve success. Key attributes: * Critical thinker who excels at problem solving and quantitative analysis * Innovative and flexible with a broad transportation background while possessing excellent oral and written communication skills * Collaborative and positive professional who can establish relationships and positively impact stakeholders within the Los Angeles Region and its allied and partner agencies and beyond * Knowledge and experience in the application of current planning principles, best practices and procedures as they apply to transportation infrastructure and service delivery with the ability and passion to develop transformative solutions for an equitable future Essential Responsibilities: * Support studies and planning activities related to multimodal transportation projects. * Conduct transportation and land use related research and documentation. * Assist in formulating and conducting technical planning studies in a timely and efficient manner and present results in concise, well-written documents. * Finalizes production of transportation planning studies, environmental documents, and reports. * Coordinates with subconsultants and in-house personnel on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks. * May oversee the work of less experienced staff. * Final production of graphical materials associated with public meetings, presentation drawings, reports, etc. * Perform and reviewing technical analysis utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) modeling tools. * Prepare graphical materials in support of transportation studies. * Uses technical software to perform project analysis. * Assists in the preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals and responses to RFP’s. * Business development and marketing, including proposals and team development and building partnerships * Willingness to travel for project meetings, engagement activities, and pursuit interviews **What You’ll Do:** + Under minimal direction, performs a variety of more highly complex professional planning, environmental planning, landscape architecture and urban design project responsibilities, and leads technical tasks. + Writes and/or reviews major sections of and leads production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for projects. Coordinates and synthesizes the contributions of others. + Leads, prepares, and reviews graphics, technical reports, work plans, scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to Request for Proposals for projects. Prepares and reviews budgets, invoicing, and billing. + Leads public and stakeholder engagement and presents information to the community. + Provides guidance and mentors staff. + Leads coordination with clients, sub-consultants, and in-house personnel on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks. + Recommends process and system improvements that result in greater efficiencies, enhanced capacities, and improved service delivery. + Supports department managers and office leadership with strategic planning, staffing/training, and other special projects. + May serve as project manager or task lead. + Performs other duties as assigned. **What You’ll Need:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field and 10 years related experience, or + Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field and 9 yrs of relevant experience **What You’ll Bring:** + Provides consultation on research approaches, evaluation methodologies, and conclusions to make recommendations to less experienced staff or clients. + Oversees the preparation of reports and provides consultation on structure and content, including conducting quality reviews.
