Kimley-Horn is seeking a Senior Transportation Planning Analyst with 3+ years of experience to join the Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office!

Responsibilities Lead and contribute to the production and delivery of multi-modal transportation systems planning, including data collection, analysis, and preparation of technical reports.Manage and complete tasks related to multi-modal corridor concept development, bicycle and pedestrian analysis, transit operations planning, and community outreach.Collaborate with clients directly, ensuring project goals, schedules, and deliverables are met to a high standard of quality and within budget.Support all phases of transportation planning projects, including:Data gathering and needs identification.Establishing goals and visioning processes.Developing recommended strategies, design concepts, and prioritized action plans.Preparing cost estimates and technical documentation.Delivering public-facing presentations and community engagement materials.Perform and oversee a variety of tasks, collaborating with team members and contributing directly to client service and satisfaction.Coordinate, direct, and mentor the work of junior analysts, fostering professional development and ensuring project consistency.Provide technical expertise in planning processes, analysis, and project execution, contributing to the advancement of both public and private sector projects.Continuously seek innovative approaches to problem-solving and keep current with industry standards and best practices. Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in transportation planning, urban planning, or a related discipline.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Working knowledge of GIS tools, including ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and StoryMap.Familiarity with transportation planning and design software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) is a plus.

Core Competencies:

Strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.Experience delivering oral presentations and public speaking engagements, including client and community-facing interactions.Demonstrated task management skills, with an ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.Strong sense of urgency, self-motivation, and initiative to meet client and team expectations.Critical thinking and analytical skills to assess project needs and develop innovative solutions.

Leadership:

Ability to manage project tasks and guide junior team members, ensuring the production of high-quality deliverables.Proven track record of collaboration and contributing to a positive team environment.

Additional Skills:

Experience in multi-modal transportation systems planning, including bicycle, pedestrian, and transit operations.Knowledge of community outreach best practices and experience developing engaging public-facing materials. Why Kimley-Horn?
