Primary Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Senior Transportation Project Engineer are to provide project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region. Anticipated work tasks may include; develop utility basemaps, coordinate with utility owners and agencies, develop relocation strategies, assist in preparation of cost estimates, preparation of engineering plans and specification for utility relocations. Will work independently as well as assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task. Will be involved in highway and railroad utility design and plans production for utility owners and Municipal clients.
Preferred QualificationsCalifornia PE certification.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to read and understand civil transportation engineering design plansAbility to read and understand utility installation and adjustment plansAbility to prepare pipeline drawings: plan view, pipeline profiles, cross sections, and utility detailsExperience delivering Caltrans drainage projectsPreference given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design Professional Engineer (PE) license Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams Project management skills desirable Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
