Risk and Compliance - Traded and Treasury Risk Management Department

Hang Seng's Risk and Compliance ("RKM") strives to maintain a well-balanced risk profile for the Bank while enabling businesses to thrive. Our team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types. We are dedicated to collaborate with businesses, other functional units and regulatory bodies to develop and implement robust and customised risk management frameworks and measures to maintain the strong market position of the Bank.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Treasury Risk Manager.

Principal responsibilities

The role purpose is to provide independent risk stewardship for Treasury risk in line with HSBC Group Risk Management Framework, with primary focus on Liquidity Risk, along with IRRBB, Capital Risk, Structural FX risk, and associated Regulatory Reporting Risk in line with HSBC Risk Management Framework.

In this role, you will:

Keep abreast of developments in liquidity risk management, maintain the Liquidity Risk Policy and ensure that the bank's liquidity risk management framework is up-to-date and adheres to all applicable liquidity risk regulations and standards.Provide independent oversight that the bank's liquidity risk management framework is adequate and effective, ensure risk and control issues and concerns are addressed and escalated through adequate governance process.Review and challenge the first-line's, i.e. ALCM and Market Treasury, liquidity risk management framework activities, identify potential liquidity risks and escalate liquidity risk issues to relevant senior stakeholders.Shape, review and challenge Risk Control Assessments for Liquidity Risk.Conduct regular reviews of the bank's liquidity risk management practices and making recommendations for improvements.Engage in the development of liquidity stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the bank's resilience to various liquidity shocks, and taking appropriate actions to mitigate any identified vulnerabilities.Coordinate with other relevant departments within the bank to ensure that the bank's liquidity risk management framework is effectively implemented and maintained.Support development and execution of a comprehensive and granular operating model for stewardship of for Treasury Risk, working closely with various first line teams including local and HBAP Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Operations and other risk teams.Engage with first line-of-defense stakeholders to identify and understand risks and controls. Own the relationship with Hang Seng Bank’s and regional Risk and Control Owners.Shape and support the activities of the Treasury Risk Assurance team, and review and challenge the outputs from their assurance activities.

Relevant Treasury (Liquidity, Funding, Capital, Structural FX) knowledge and experience working in HSBC or a comparable large bank or financial institutionDemonstrable experience of challenging views with courageous integrity to do the right thingAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyStrong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environmentFamiliar with HKMA rules and regulations related to Treasury RiskThorough understanding of HKBA’s activities, products, processes and systems or those of a comparable large bank or financial institutionExcellent business writing, communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of businessHigh level of professionalism and competency that helps determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management
