Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred.In-depth knowledge of Personal Trust Administration processes and procedures.Understanding of Trust Tax, Trust Accounting and Investment Management.Knowledge of fiduciary laws including estate planning techniques, relevant tax.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication (written and oral), and collaborative skillsUnderstanding of the regulatory environment impacting the personal fiduciary business.Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business and the client.Assists in the development of strategic plans.Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives.Oversees maintenance of Policies and Procedures Manual as required by internal and external changes.Cross trains team members to ensure coverage and contingency.Supports in audits and compliance reviews as assigned.Identifies and escalates all irregularities and discrepancies to management.Oversees maintenance of Policies and Procedures Manual as required by internal and external changes.Protects the Bank's assets and complies with all regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.Follows through on the risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguard our customers’ assets, maintain their privacy, act in their best interests, and ensures an effectively run function.Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

The position involves the administrative review of trust, investment management, custody, and individual retirement accounts as well as estates and guardianships. This includes the review of BMO Bank’s directives/procedures, regulatory compliance, governing documents, system coding, disbursement/discretionary documentation and other account necessary documentation and the development and implementation of action plans for the remediation of issues.

It may also involve special projects regarding the integration of trust accounts into Wealth Management Trust Administration from other lines of business or as a result of acquisitions/mergers.  This includes the identification of administrative risks and the proposal of remediation based on existing BMO Bank's line of business procedures.

Salary:

$72,500.00 - $134,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
