What You’ll Be Doing
As the Senior Trust Analyst, you will be responsible for the ongoing account administration of a focused book of Indigenous Trusts. This involves partnering with a specialized team of professionals within Wealth Management dedicated to working with Indigenous clients and external stakeholders. Primary accountability for the timely, accurate, and professional administration of large and complex trust accounts. You will identify and mitigate account risks while adhering to all CIBC Trust Policies & Procedures, including cash management, fee collection, account opening, etc.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You’ll Succeed
Analyzing Business Requirements - Research and analyze specialized information and recommend solutions to issues and problems that arise during the ongoing administration of the accounts.
Improving Process Efficiency - Identify, develop and implement routine operational process enhancements to increase the efficiency of the administration of the trust accounts.
Provide Process Consultation - Assess the impact, effectiveness and feasibility of proposed change in processes and present recommendations to Senior Management to provide a perspective on the impact of change on the account administration.
Time Management and Accountability - Ability to meet very tight deadlines through effective prioritization. Ability to work independently with little direction in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
Collaboration - Develop and maintain a strong partnership with the clients and stakeholders in order to provide excellent client service. Effective and open communication is critical to ensure parties are informed of key activities, milestones and deliverables. Partner effectively with internal experts from the Investment Management and Tax Department, to provide guidance on client investment and tax issues. Supervises account administration to ensure consistency with account objectives, constating documents and legislation.
Communication - Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, processes, and technology solutions to stakeholders with different disciplinary backgrounds. Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.
Trust and Investment Acumen - Ensure the onboarding and account management aligns with the unique needs of clients and the characteristics of Trusts. Establish effective tracking, monitoring and compliance with the governing document and responsible for the resolution of all operational, technical and discretionary issues encountered in the management of the accounts. Assist in developing standards in administration and vetting new and/or changes to policies and procedures. Optimizes account administration by identifying and implementing process improvements.
Reporting - Track progress and conduct analysis of data and reports. Support in the tracking and communication of investment metrics.
Who You Are
You are a professional with the successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
You can demonstrate experience in Trust and detailed knowledge of accounting and securities administration sufficient to complete documentation and communicate effectively with other departments/stakeholders.
