Performs a variety of sonographic examinations dealing with OB/GYN, abdominal and small parts.  Expectations also include assisting the radiologist during invasive procedures. One additional certification i.e. Breast, Vascular, Neurosonography, MSK, Pediatrics, Fetal Echo, Nuchaltranslucency or the Neonatal specialty is required for sonographer 2 status. Makes a clinical judgment of the patient's condition, based on information obtained from the referring physician, medical records, patient interview and personal assessments.

Required Qualifications:

Coursework/Training: Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound training program. Education sufficient to meet eligibility requirements to take American Registry of Diagnostic Ultrasonographers (ARDMS) registry examinationUpon hire: National Registered Technologist - Sonography --or--National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical SonographyUpon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association2 years experience as a sonographer
