HDR is looking for a Senior Utility Management Consultant to join our Water Business Group team in either Raleigh or Winston-Salem, NC. The ideal candidate will have a background of leading teams and programs in the water / wastewater industry. The Senior Utility Operations Consultant will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong trust-advisor relationships with clients, and managing the delivery for a wide range of water resources and utility management projects. Project types will include: utility performance improvements, asset management and rehabilitation/replacement planning, water/wastewater facility master planning and design, and biosolids management planning and design, and organizational/workforce assessments and planning. In addition, the candidate will provide leadership and support for HDR’s program management/owner’s advisor services leadership roles. They will perform client development and management activities to support our South Atlantic Area (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia) based team. On a day-to-day basis, they'll be expected to:
• Supportstaff development, profitability, quality control and marketing
• Lead and mentor other staff
• Functionas a Project Manager, and be responsible for executing projects, managing and developing multi-discipline teams, utilizing HDR’s business systems and project management tools
• Participatein leadership for technical functions and support the development of HDR services in utility management consulting, asset management, program management/owner’s advisor services, and water/wastewater facilities planning and design
• Some regional / national travel will be expected
• Be involved with the marketing planning and proposal development process
• Participatein industry organizations and functions, including presentations and publications
• Possibly serve in an expertrole for projects throughout the USA
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 15years of management experience in the water / wastewater utility industryMS Office and MS Project experience is requiredDemonstrated business development and strategic planning skillsGood communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skillsStrong skills in preparing client presentations, project memoranda and reports are requiredAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustBS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical discipline within the industry is preferredMS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical discipline within the industry is preferredPE license or previous certification as a professional water / wastewater operator preferredLocal candidates are preferredLI-SM1Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field 10 years related experience A minimum of 5 years of project management experience Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management softwareMust have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
