How you will create an impact

Working closely with the Head of Corporate Accident & Health & our Client Broker Engagement team to manage all aspects of a designated A&H broker portfolio including underwriting, profitability, budgeting, renewal and distribution strategy, contractual obligations and product development. Possessing A&H market relationships and experience to be able to underwrite and manage large/complex Corporate Travel and Group Personal Accident accounts.

Takes an active role in distribution and operational process flows as well as executing strategic initiatives. Achieve agreed new business, retention and loss ratio targets for self and team by establishing strategic targeted marketing and cross marketing objectives and broker action plans. Achieve broker visitation targets across a designated broker panel. Increase market share through visitation and improved relationships with key internal/external stakeholder.

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

Undertake role activity within expense budgetAchievement of new business and overall premium results in accordance with budgetAchievement of budgeted loss (excluding catastrophe losses), commission and expense ratiosIdentify and evaluate growth and profit opportunities unique to the territory with particular attention to Consumer Lines.Assist with the development, decision process and implementation of strategies for the allocated territoryAssist with development and implementation of policy wordingsAssist in the establishment of new business procedures & underwriting guidelinesAssist with the marketing activities of the allocated territoryBuild on existing producer relationships and develop new relationships in order to assist with new business production                                   Work with staff members in other departments to identify cross marketing opportunitiesEnsure clear and frequent communication between staffAssist with recruitment, motivation, management, development, and retention of staff in allocated territory (including claims)Encourage colleagues in meeting new business, producer visitation and expense targetsDetermine personal training needs within the department and work with Northern Region Manager and HR to ensure appropriate programs are followed

What you’ll need to succeed

Experience in managing personal lines broker portfolioSolid knowledge of personal lines products and underwriting processesStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsStrong account management skills with a proven track record of developing solid internal and external customer relationshipsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSuperior presentation, organisational and analytical skillsSound understanding of insurance industry and underwriting appetite of all departmentsThe skills to source, analyse and implement new distribution channelsIntermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
